Families love to harvest all sorts of berries on the Tongass National Forest. Many are processed as jam or frozen for the winter. It’s impossible to resist smashing a few berries in your mouth while you are picking and our hands can become stained with berry juice. These blueberries were harvested in the alpine of Harbor Mountain near Sitka, Alaska. Photo credit: Bethany Goodrich

“Jean Vollum was a philanthropist in the truest sense of that word,” said Ecotrust founder Spencer Beebe, who knew Vollum for 35 years and worked closely with her to create Ecotrust. “She was someone who loved humanity.”

By making a legacy gift to Ecotrust, or naming Ecotrust as a beneficiary in your estate, IRA, or insurance policies, you are making a lasting commitment to advancing social equity, economic opportunity, and environmental well-being for all.

If you have already included Ecotrust in your estate plans, please let us know. Sharing your plan with us places you under no obligation and enables us to take the proper steps to thank you and welcome you into the Ecotrust Legacy Society. All wishes for anonymity will be honored. If you are exploring ways to create enduring impact through a legacy gift to Ecotrust, please give us a call.
