Join us March 20 in the FSC-certified-wood-lined main hall of Redd East for the launch of the Climate-Smart Wood Group. Architects, developers, builders, students, policymakers and individuals who are interested in understanding, locating, and using climate-smart wood are all encouraged to join the brief program, followed by networking and socializing.
The event is co-sponsored by Ecotrust, Forest Stewardship Council, Northwest Natural Resource Group, Sustainable Northwest, and Washington Environmental Council and RSVP is requested.
Timed with the International Mass Timber Conference, the event represents the launch of an effort to support architects, builders and others looking to source climate-smart wood products.
The Climate-Smart Wood Group will focus on the following:
• Understanding and making the case for use of climate-smart wood products.
• Helping project teams source wood from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests and restoration treatments.
• Exploring ways to increase the availability of climate-smart wood products in the marketplace.
For more information, see this overview sheet or this recently released video to show the difference climate-smart wood makes in the forest.
There will be a brief program to introduce the Climate-Smart Wood Group, along with time for networking and socializing.
