See Bigfoot through the eyes of Indigenous peoples of the Nch’i-Wána (Columbia River), in this advance screening of OPB’s “Guardian of the Land.”
Pacific Northwest tribes know Bigfoot not as a monster but as a protector – a spiritual being that walks between the seen and unseen. This new film from OPB’s “Oregon Experience” looks beyond mainstream portrayals to explore an Indigenous perspective on the world’s most famous cryptid.
A panel discussion with the film’s producer, LaRonn Katchia, and featured tribal members – moderated by Shyla Spicer, President and CEO of Native Arts and Cultures Foundation – will follow, with a special performance from world champion jingle dancer Acosia Red Elk and the film’s music composer Geneviève Gros-Louis.
Food provided by Javelina Indigenous Catering. Doors open and food will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. The screening will begin at 7 p.m.
