The Redd on Salmon Street
831 SE Salmon, Portland, Oregon
This fall, come together to celebrate the deep connections between country and city, between farmer and eater, and the innovations that are still to come, as we work together to build a more just, equitable, and delicious regional food system.
As the senior scientist and director of the Food and Environment Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, Salvador works with citizens, scientists, economists, and politicians to transition our current food system into one that grows healthy foods while employing sustainable and socially equitable practices.
Since 2009, Civil Eats has been a vital resource for the food community. Their more than 100 contributors are active participants in the evolving food landscape from Capital Hill to Main Street, focusing on stories that shift the conversation around sustainable agriculture in an effort to build economically and socially just communities.
The evening’s programming will be followed by a bountiful graze of regional fare — from Oregon’s coastal waters to our easternmost mountains. Each dish will highlight a partnership between producer and chef to showcase the flavors of the season and the connections that make this place we live so special.
With Redd West fully occupied, and the historic renovation at Redd East soon underway, this is the perfect time to celebrate the people and places that make our home a place that we love.
