DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a morning of volunteering with Ecotrust and Portland Parks and Recreation! We will be shearing the grass growing around newly established plants and spreading mulch around them. This will help lessen the competition around these plant babies and keep them moist during the summer. These plants will provide habitat to much of the local wildlife that call Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge home. \nThe plant tending is taking place in a mostly flat area with tall grasses. There will be a porta potty close to the work site and public restrooms at Sellwood Park near the parking lot. \nWe suggest wearing long sturdy pants\, weather appropriate layers\, and closed-toe\, sturdy shoes. We will provide tools\, gloves\, light snacks and hot drinks.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an info session and community networking event about New Markets Tax Credits! \nThe New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) program can be a powerful tool to invest in communities’ large-scale capital projects. And it can be a complicated process to undertake and understand. On April 30\, join Ecotrust\, Craft3\, Native American Bank\, US Bancorp Impact Finance\, and Advantage Capital for an informational session designed to demystify the New Markets Tax Credit program and network with others throughout the region who are putting these dollars to work toward building community wealth and infrastructure. \nParking and Transportation: The Inatai office is located on the 26th floor of the Rainier Tower Building at 1301 5th Avenue in Seattle. \nPublic transportation: Accessible via light rail\, bus and Sounder lines. \nParking: Parking is available at the Rainier Square Building\, which is connected to Rainier Tower. The parking garage entrance is at 401 Union St. Rates range from $7-$35. The garage is currently operating at peak capacity between hours\, so please be aware a spot isn’t guaranteed. \nHow to access the space \nFrom Rainier Tower Lobby: Take the Rainier Tower elevators to the 26th floor. From the Rainier Square Parking Garage: Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and from the elevators turn right and cross the lobby (past the Fonti coffee bar) to the Rainier Tower elevator bank. SUMMARY:2026 Indigenous Agroforestry Network Gathering
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Indigenous Agroforestry Network Gathering will take place in the South Puget Sound region\, surrounded by forests\, rivers\, shellfish beds\, and lands stewarded by Coast Salish Peoples since time immemorial. \nLittle Creek Casino Resort will serve as our home base for plenary sessions\, panels\, shared meals\, and evening cultural programming. On the last day of the gathering\, we will travel out into the region for field immersion visits to land and water projects\, connecting directly with forest\, farm\, and marine systems in action. \nWe are honored to gather in this region and are working closely with local partners to ensure this space reflects the values of Indigenous leadership\, collaboration\, and respect for land and waters.

SUMMARY:Fuji to Hood: Japan/Oregon Collaboration Festival
DESCRIPTION:Fuji to Hood: Japan/Oregon collaboration festival was founded in Portland in 2018 to create cross-cultural bonds and lifelong friendships and takes place every other year in Tokyo. The festival partners 25 breweries and cidermakers from Oregon with 25 from Japan to create original beverages each using atleast one special ingredient from their country. In the past this has created beers made with seaweed\, koji\, purple potatoes\, sansho pepper\, kuromoji wood\, matcha\, yuzu citrus and much much more. \nBut Fuji to Hood is much more than a drinks festival! They also host Japanese performers from DJ’s to traditional dance\, Taiko drummers\, and Kendo martial arts. A wide range of Japanese food and drinks are featured from sushi and ramen to imported snacks\, desserts\, baked goods\, rolls\, ice cream\, tea\, coffee\, and sake and spirits. Throughout it all are local Japanese artists and vendors setting up a pop-up marketplace with goods like woodblock prints\, handmade kimono\, shirts and dresses\, pottery\, glassware\, even Japanese cutlery! \nFuji to Hood is an indoor and outdoor festival held at The Redd on Salmon events venue as an all-ages venue for culture and entertainment. The festival is FREE to enter but admission is required to indulge in the exclusively made Japanese/Oregon collaboration beverages.
