I think one thing has been having schools understand the importance of having nutritious meals that also taste good and that are culturally relevant.
And when I came here, it was really cool to see, like, the kids eating posole for lunch, or you know, just some of those things that they eat at home.
What’s been inspiring about working in early childhood care and education?
I think like what we really need is to have people in power who have that, like, genuine passion in ECE.

[Our classes] have been very inspirational and given me hope for the future. Because my own daughter’s in that classroom, it’s just really nice seeing everything they do for my kid. If more classrooms could be like this, what a difference it would make.
Thank you to Lupe Yundt for sharing her time and wisdom as a member of the Farm to Early Childhood Education Advisory Committee.
