Meet the Farm to Early Care and Education Advisory Committee

NATALIE GORDON

Natalie is the Collaboration Coordinator at Prevent Child Abuse Oregon. They are also a member of the Farm to Early Care and Education Advisory Committee.

That’s what we do as early educators: We plant these seeds and send them off, and hope that they grow into these beautiful blossoming trees.

We meet monthly, we do trainings. We do a one-on-one consultation or coaching, where I either do that virtually or I go into the program and support them with some goals.

What are aspects of your work that you enjoy the most?

I see one of those ways as starting with the children and getting them engaged, and then that gets the families engaged, and then ultimately your communities, and then hopefully that changes the landscape of the spaces you’re in.

You have to start with intentionality around who people are and how they come into these spaces. And without that, you can’t make any sort of system that is for the people.
