Farm Service Agency Microgrants

Black Food Sovereignty Coalition and Ecotrust are distributing microgrants from a total budget of $150,000, through a cooperative agreement with the USDA Farm Service Agency.

Applicants can apply for a one-time grant of $5,000. If awarded, funds must be spent by December 1, 2024.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be stewarding land or ranching in the Portland Metro area (Oregon) or a selected urban area in Oregon and serving individuals or communities residing in the Portland Metro area. (See list of selected urban areas on the next page)
  • Identify as a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC) urban producer
  • List of projected expenses (simple budget) for grant funds anticipated use
  • Each farm business may only receive this microgrant once. Please ensure you apply at the time that is most beneficial to your farm business.
  • Applicant must derive a portion of their income from their farm business
