Heather Ellis

Director of Grants and Funder Impact

Heather Ellis (she/her) is the Director of Grants and Funder Impact. She designs the systems and strategies for institutional funders and grant management at Ecotrust. In this role, she works in coordination with executive leadership, development, program, and finance teams. Heather brings experience in grant writing, proposal development, and funder relations across a variety of organizations. She has worked at organizations including Oregon Food Bank, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Impact Northwest. Additionally, she has successfully held leadership roles in the grants field, serving as Vice President and President of the local chapter of the Grant Professionals Association for six years. Heather has lived in Portland, Oregon, for a little over 20 years and calls the Pacific Northwest home. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing, writing, reading, gardening, hiking, traveling, and learning about history and anthropology. Her favorite travel experience was visiting Bolivia, where she had the opportunity to meet several Indigenous leaders. Heather also has an MBA and a degree in Cultural Anthropology.
