Jenny Tseng is a food systems collaborator with experience in a variety of different aspects in local food systems, including as a farmer, food assistance provider, and school meal program researcher. She currently works as Ecotrust’s Farm to School Fellow, serving as the connector between schools, early care and education (ECE) providers, local food producers, and government agencies in Oregon. Jenny supports the students and staff at school and early childhood programs in building meaningful relationships with the land and their local producers through knowledge sharing, grant assistance, and organizing professional learning opportunities. As one of Portland Metropolitan area’s procurement hub coordinators, Jenny provides technical assistance to school and ECE food buyers to purchase and incorporate seasonal and culturally relevant foods from local farmers and producers to feed the next generation. Her food systems work is fueled by a life-long joy in nourishing and building community through shared meals that preserve cultural traditions and celebrate diasporic creativity.
