Raphaël Guzman

Program Manager of Food Systems Equity

As Program Manager of Food Systems Equity at Ecotrust, I am a connector and educator: facilitating bridges between people, land, and systems change. While managing the BIPOC Farm to Market program at Ecotrust, I worked with beginning farmers and producers in the Portland area to build farm businesses, access market opportunities, and grow alongside a community of peers. Today, through Resilient Food Futures, I produce culturally relevant programming supporting the long-term agricultural viability, resilience, and leadership of the global majority.

I’m a first-generation Black Latina from California and have a deep reverence for her landscape and loam where I completed my formal farming education. Through this abiding connection to the land, my lived experience, and a mind for hands-on creative problem-solving, I have supported initiatives at the intersections of regenerative agriculture, community development, and social justice for over 20 years. In my work, I am dedicated to decolonizing education, land reform, and centering the wisdom of producers of color.

When I’m not in the field, I find joy in my writing practice, cultivating beautiful spaces, and long dinners in good company, todo con mi lobito Jude justo a mi lado.
