Our work began thirty years ago on the banks of the Kitlope in British Columbia, Canada, in partnership with the Haisla First Nation. While the geographies of our work has ebbed and flowed over the years, today, our work spans the region that stretches from Southeast Alaska to Northern California.
This region is mapped here, although we’ve chosen not to display political boundaries, which have been used as a tool of colonialism to displace Indigenous people and disempower voters, among others.
We believe that place matters and that change starts here at home. Understanding the unique characteristics of the places we live, work, and play is critical to progress. While we pursue place-based solutions specific to our region, we aspire to do work here that will inspire change around the world.
