Carson Viles

Tribal Network Manager

I work with tribal partners to support Indigenous-led management and cultural practice on tribal homelands and waters. My work ranges from collaborating on strategic planning to carrying out field work alongside tribal staff. Our partners have diverse needs, and what holds my work together is a focus on capacity-building and removing barriers to Indigenous-led stewardship. I’m a Che’-mee-dv-ne (Joshua band) person enrolled at the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Prior to coming to Ecotrust, I split my time between environmental consulting work and language revitalization in my own community. I’m still involved with work on Nuu-wee-ya’ language and also rely on basketball, “putting up” food, and spending time with my friends and family to keep me happy and healthy!
