Miakah Nix

Community Resource Manager

I am a proud Haida and Tsimshian Auntie living and working in Keex’ Kwaan (Kake, Alaska). I don’t believe in “wilderness” and “conservation”; I believe in Indigenous homelands and cultural stewardship. My work is based around this belief. In my role, I serve the community of Kake and the Southeast Alaskan region as a whole through grassroots programming in mariculture, food security, Indigenous stewardship, and leadership development.
