‘Tis the season of gratitude and generosity, and here in Portland, Oregon, the Redd on Salmon Street is unveiling something truly special: limited edition gift boxes brimming with delights from local food entrepreneurs.
These unique gift boxes are made available through Collective Reparations, an eCommerce store envisioned by Christopher Rachal, Ecotrust’s Community and Funding Partnerships Manager. This online store was created to support the distribution of reparations, a vision realized through innovative partnerships with local vendors and food hubs like the Redd. Christopher dreams of a world where food hubs propel us toward a more reparative economy and culture, one that centers healing and repair.
Today, we are honored to introduce these three unique gift boxes, featuring products from Ranger Chocolate Co., Pan’s Mushroom Jerky, Young Mountain Tea, Sisters Fruit Company, Albina City Nuts, and Tostado Coffee. Explore the yummy selections below and choose a gift that not only delights the senses but also supports a transformative cause!
With the introduction of these gift boxes, The Redd takes a significant step toward aligning the local food economy with the reparations movement. It lends its voice to the call for reparations for Black, Native, and refugee ancestors and their descendants. As we enter this holiday season and beyond, we invite you to stand with us in this movement.
