SUMMARY:Rooted Resilience: Management\, Stewardship\, & Conservation
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a workshop on climate resilient farming with farmer James King Jr.\, hosted at East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District Office. \nRooted Resilience: Management\, Stewardship\, & Conservation\nGather with us on December 10 at East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District Office for a workshop exploring how ancestral and cultural practices can guide climate-resilient farming today. \nParticipants will learn practical soil health improvement strategies\, as well as how soil health improvements provide environmental\, economic\, and social benefits. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with a direct technical assistance provider and learn about other resources such as training programs\, educational materials\, and funding opportunities available for beginner farmers. \nWhen: December 10\, 6:00–8:00 PM. Dinner will be provided. \nWhere: East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District Office. Address provided prior to event. \n“Rooted Resilience: Management\, Stewardship\, & Conservation” is presented by Ecotrust\, Black Food Sovereignty Coalition and Azimu Group in partnership with the East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District. \nIntended Audience\nThis is the third workshop in a six-part series designed for new farmers\, urban gardeners\, home growers\, land stewards\, and anyone interested in reconnecting with land and lineage\, while learning to farm in a changing climate. Whether you’re growing in a backyard\, on a balcony\, or managing acreage\, we’d love to have you join us. \nActivities will be family-friendly\, and we aim to create a space where all generations can connect with the land and with each other. However\, we will not be offering childcare for this workshop. \nLanguage\nThe instruction will be delivered in English. If you require translation services\, please let us know a week in advance by emailing us at foodsystemequity@ecotrust.org with the language for which you need translation.
