PORTLAND, Ore., September 12, 2017 — Ecotrust is gathering visionaries, artisans, farmers, and citizens for a benefit highlighting a more equitable, restorative, and delicious food system. Light Up the Redd, a benefit for Ecotrust, features renowned scientist and activist Ricardo Salvador and celebrates the region’s bounty with culinary fare from top restaurants and food and drink purveyors. The evening’s backdrop is the Redd on Salmon Street, Ecotrust’s new Central Eastside hub of values-based food enterprises committed to building a healthy regional food system.

WHO:
Keynote speaker Ricardo Salvador is a prominent agronomist, food systems expert and director of the Food and Environment Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. A provocative speaker and an activist, Salvador works with citizens, scientists, economists and politicians to transition the current food system into one that grows healthy foods while employing sustainable and socially equitable practices.
