Mill & Grill celebrates Ecotrust's burgeoning Central Eastside food campus

WHAT: Inner southeast Portland neighbors and businesses and Oregon food innovators will join foresters, fishermen, musicians, and community organizers for a rain-or-shine celebration of the season and its natural bounty at The Redd on Salmon Street. A future working hub for the regional food economy, the Redd is opening its doors for neighbors, partners, future tenants, and the public to share in:

  • Lumber milling demonstration by Coquille Indian Tribe members, who are bringing cedar logs from their Sek-wet-se forest to serve as beams and siding in rebuilding the Redd Foundry building
  • Music from musician and sonic artist Rebecca Gates
  • Wild sockeye salmon barbecue by Iliamna Fish Co.
  • A tour of the two-block campus and a review of design plans that mesh dynamic public spaces with 60,000+ SF of active food production, distribution, and warehouse space in the heart of the city
  • Pumpkin carving
